It’s that time of year, folks: as soon as November 1st hits my entire inbox, IG feed, Tik Tok FYP and even the group chat is filled with talk of Thanksgiving recipes. My Thanksgiving table growing up was pretty non-traditional - we’d have a turkey but it would be filled with a rice & dried fruit stuffing made by my grandpa and we’d serve it alongside my mom’s roasted salmon and other Russian cold salads - that kind of thing. Over the years my sisters and I started adding more “American” dishes to the table like green bean casserole (a FFF aka Fedner Family Fave) and mac and cheese and I’ve grown to really love the hodge podge assortment. But whether the dishes are Russian, American, or somewhere in between, one thing will always remain true: Thanksgiving is a holiday ruled by side dishes and not turkey.
So I wanna know - what are your favorite traditional and non-traditional Thanksgiving sides?
What's your favorite Thanksgiving side?
Well being Filipino… we had the traditional Turkey … but with classic Filipino dishes as well! 😇😇😇
