The other day I was at dinner with friends at Essex Pearl (love it there so much) and we had the choice of getting a whole Dungeness crab or a whole lobster from the live tank. To me, the choice was obvious: I wanted the crab. Because TBH - I think lobster is kind of overrated. I mean, don’t get me wrong: obviously lobster is *delicious* and I will never say *no* to it but given the choice I’d almost always rather have crab or shrimp. And yes an argument can be made for lobster rolls but like…crab and shrimp rolls are also freaking amazing plus you can put anything in a bun and slather it with garlic butter or mayo and it would be good so this argument simply does not hold. In my opinion lobster is coveted because it gives expensive/luxurious vibes and not because it’s the best crustacean out there.
What’s a food or dish you think is overhyped/overrated?
I’ve said shrimp is MUCH better than lobster for YEARS. Had to subscribe when I saw this post.
I think Pancakes are overrated lol!! Waffle serves the purpose just as well if not better 😜😜😜
